PD1 - Round and Round with Rocks - Canberra geology
December 05, 2017 @ 9:00 AM
This workshop examines the rock cycle and places it in the context of plate tectonics, geological time and dynamic earth processes, including climate change. Exploration of minerals, ores and mining are put in context.
In this workshop there will be a particular focus on the rocks of the Canberra Region, as well as some activities that could be used for Senior Earth and Environmental Science students.
At the completion of this workshop teachers will be equipped with the background information and resources, including some practical activities, to assist them with teaching the requirements of the Australian Curriculum: Science, particularly at the Year 8 and Senior EES levels.
